Ah, an arrangement of complementary foods nestling together harmoniously. Gelatin, pears, tomatoes, radishes, and peas, all melded together in a jellied loaf.
That is just so wrong. Peas and pears do not belong in the same dish, much less one with gelatin. Who thought this was a good idea.
But speaking of gelatin, I was THRILLED yesterday when I found Black Cherry Jell-O at Wal-Mart (a place I normally avoid like the plague). The original, sugar sweetened version of this flavor has all but disappeared. Except for Wal-Mart, no one carries it anymore. It's the little things that make my day.

That is a good flavor. And hard to find!
ReplyDeleteOh, yum. My mother used to make that and put a can of dark cherries in it. What a dessert!
ReplyDeleteSurely dark cherry jello, not the above mixture of tuna and whatnot! Although, having seen many Jello recipes, I can no longer say for sure.
ReplyDeleteYou know, people always blame the Mormons and the Presbytarians for weird Jell-O, but I think we found the REAL origin of the stuff . . .
ReplyDeleteLOL Bethany !
