This is so cute...the look on her little face is so full of anticipation for a delicious pie !
I was 4 years old in 1955 and we had that same washing machine as in the picture until I was 12 or 13 years old.It was so noisy and when it finally broke down for good, my poor Mom was so very happy to get a new one !
I love the plastic cover on the washing machine. Wouldn't want to splatter it with cherry pie filling. But best of all I like the happy face on the washing machine, with the rollers as smiling mouth, and big round eyes above it hanging on the wall.
This picture looks like one I have of my mother (yes...I'm that old--no offense Nonna) in my grandmother's kitchen. She (my mother) would have had a 1 year old and one on the way in 1955...

That is the same expression I have when I am going to get pie. And brave you! Electric wringers scare me. Especially around little folks.

In the '40s and 50's, they put plastic on EVERYTHING !!!
